“He/She is My Role Model Forever”

Nowadays, many of young Muslims have lost their direction in life. Most of them don’t know what to do
with their life, their time and whom to follow. With all media, social media and television exposure,
theystart to make Hollywood artists, pop stars, football players as their role model which is not ideal asmost of them will not obey Allah SWT and his Messenger.

This is mainly because very little opportunities for them to know, to understand, and to learn about t
hebest generations that ever walked on earth. We sincerely hope that KIBAR speech and writing competition is one of the solution to introduce and to expose them with some the best generation at
the time of the prophet Muhammad SAW.

The aim of this theme is to learn, understand and take example from the life of:

1.Abu Bakar As-Shidiq R.A. for Boys

2.Aisyah binti Abu Bakar R.A for Girls

And to develop and nurture taqwa, confident and truthful leader of the future from our own family.

Issues Presented

The main purpose of this speech and writing competition is to relate day-today life problems as a young
Muslims (relationship with Allah SWT, the love to Rasulullah SAW, children parents relationship, being
faithful, honesty, equality, ect.) and find a similarity and solutions from the life of Abu Bakar As-S
hidiqR.A. and Aisyah binti Abu Bakar R.A. In the end parents and children will have opportunities to
discuss and learn this at home and make them as role model.

Age Divisions

Three age divisions are used in KIBAR Speech Contest based on their birthday at 8th of June 2014:

  • Junior Division: ages eight (8) to ten (10)
  • Intermediate Division: ages eleven (11) to thirteen(13)
  • Senior Division: ages fourteen (14) to eighteen (18)

Speech Category Rules

Length of Speeches:

  1. Junior Division: 1 to 3 minutes.
  2. Intermediate Division: 3 to 5 minutes.
  3. Senior Division: 5 to 8 minutes.

All speeches must be original and include Qur’an and Hadith as the major component of the speech.

No text allowed during speech competition.

Acknowledge the source of information used in the speech. For example, an article from a bookand magazine may be used for reference, but should not be quoted directly unless you tell the audience your source.

Some contestant might have given speeches in other contests. This is fine; however, previousspeeches may not be used verbatim for KIBAR Speech competition. It is okay to use the same ideas from previously delivered in competition. How ever, enough changes should be made to make that speech new to the judges and the audience. Contestants may not use an old speech written by a sibling, family members, or anyone else.

Use of visual aids and power points etc. are not allowed.

Dress appropriately. Do not wear costumes or special effect clothing.

Writing Category Rules

Length of Writings:

1. Junior Division: 400 – 500 Words.

2. Intermediate Division: 500 – 750 Words.

3.Senior Division: 750 Words – 1000 Words.

 

All writings must be original and include Qur’an and Hadith as the major component of the speech.

Writing format is using Verdana size 10 font with 1.5 spaces as  MS Word format.

How to register

Registration fee for this competition is £5 per contestant. This fee is mainly to cover prize costs.
Fee is payable at KIBAR registration at Markfield.

Registration will be closed at 29th May 2014 at 21.00.

Writing competition Due Date

The due date to send the writing work piece is on 4th June 2014 at 21.00 GMT

Prize

For each categories the prizes are as follows:

Senior Division:

  • 1st (£50) + Certificate
  • 2nd (£35) + Certificate
  • 3rd (£25) + Certificate

Intermediate Division:

  • 1st (£35) + Certificate
  • 2nd (£25) + Certificate
  • 3rd (£15) + Certificate

Junior Division:

  • 1st (£25) + Certificate
  • 2nd (£15) + Certificate
  • 3rd (£5) + Certificate

The best speech will be endorsed to be given their speech in the closing ceremony of KSG 2014
